Georg Trakl was Austrian lyric poet. His work is largely dark ; centered around death, disaster and decay. His poems are more philosophical and do not deal as much with the real world, most of his poems are either set in the evening or have evening as a motif. Silence is also a frequent motif in Trakl’s poetry. He had incestuous relation with his Younger sister. Georg Trakl committed Suicide on 3 November 1914 at the age 27. Cause of death was drug overdose. His younger Margarethe Jeanne Trakl was born 8 August 1891. She was a pianist. She committed suicide 3 years later at the age of 26 on 17 September 1917.
