असम के USTM यूनिवर्सिटी में छात्रों के साथ राहुल गाँधी का एक संवाद कार्यक्रम रखा गया था , सारी तैयारी हो चुकी थी. एकाएक कल रात को यूनिवर्सिटी ने कार्यक्रम करने की इजाजत नहीं दी और कहा ऊपर से आदेश है हम असमर्थ हैं. लेकिन जब राहुल गाँधी गुवाहाटी की ओर प्रस्थान कर रहे थे तब यूनिवर्सिटी के हज़ारों छात्र सड़क पर उनसे मिलने के लिये इकट्ठा हो गये. इस बेपनाह मोहब्बत को देख कर राहुल गाँधी ने रुक कर बस की छत से छात्रों को संबोधित किया. ये हैं उनके सम्बोधन के 10 पाइंट्स –
- It is important that you are allowed to listen to anybody you want to listen to.
- You are being told that you must blindly obey the RSS and the leadership of this country.
- You are being told that you should not have your own imagination.
- You are being told that you cannot speak your own language.
- You are being told that you cannot have your own history.
- You are being told that you should not have your own freedom.
- You are being told that you cannot speak your own language.

- You are being made to be blindly obedient.
- They are trying to turn you into a slave.
But that’s not possible!
