Abdul Rashid Salim Salman Khan (born 27 December 1965) in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India. He is an Indian actor, film producer, writer and television personality. He is from Muslim father Salim khan and Hindu mother Sushila charak. Salman is one of the most successful actor in Hindi film industry and forms Bollywood’s khan trinity. He has received numerous awards, including two National Film Awards as a film producer, and two Filmfare Awards as an actor. He is cited in the media as one of the most commercially successful actors of Indian cinema. Strange thing is that he haven’t received Padam Shri awards yet though he openly supported Narendra Modi in 2014 . Padam Shri is largely a political award and many less successful have been awarded by govts.
Salman is part of big Bollywood Muslim family and eldest son of established screenwriter Salim Khan. Khan began his acting career with a supporting role in Biwi Ho To Aisi (1988), followed by his breakthrough with a leading role in Sooraj Barjatya’s romantic Maine Pyar Kiya (1989) which was highest-grossing Indian films at the time. Movie made him as star overnight. He firmly established himself in the 1990s, with several commercially successful films, including Barjatya’s family dramas Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! (1994) and Hum Saath-Saath Hain (1999), the action film Karan Arjun (1995) and the comedy Biwi No.1 (1999). After a period of decline in the 2000s, Khan achieved greater stardom in the 2010s by starring in top-grossing action films like Wanted (2009), Dabangg (2010), Ready (2011), Bodyguard (2011), Ek Tha Tiger (2012), Dabangg 2 (2012), Kick (2014), and Tiger Zinda Hai (2017), and dramas such as Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015) and Sultan (2016). Khan has starred in the highest-grossing Hindi films of 10 years, the highest for any actor. Khan is a television presenter and promotes humanitarian causes through his charity, Being Human Foundation. He is still unmarried. He had been in relationship with many actresses’ Aishwarya Roy, Katrina Kaif, Sangeeta Bijlani and Somy Ali.
He has been hosting the reality show Bigg Boss since 2010. In 2011, he launched his own production company called SKBH Productions (Salman Khan Being Human Productions). In 2014, he launched another production house called SKF (Salman Khan Films). Under this banner he produced some popular movies like Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015), Tubelight, Dabangg 3 (2019) and Radhe (2021),Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan (2023).
Criminal case: The case involves the alleged killing of a deer when Khan and his co-stars – Saif Ali Khan, Sonali Bendre, Neelam and Tabu – were filming the movie Hum Saath-Saath Hain in the forests near Jodhpur in 1998. In 2007, Salman spent a week in Jodhpur jail before the court granted him bail. Sincw then he was convicted many times and granted bail many times.
In August 2011, Khan admitted that he suffers from trigeminal neuralgia, a facial nerve disorder commonly known as the “suicide disease”. The disorder occurs due to the inflammation of trigeminal nerve in the face. In an interview, he said that he has been quietly suffering from it for the past seven years, but now the pain has become unbearable. He said that it has even affected his voice, making it much harsher.
