Kangna Amardeep Ranaut ( born 23 March 1987) is an Indian actress and filmmaker. She is the recipient of several awards, including four National Film Awards and five Filmfare Awards. In 2020 her election campaign and online hatemongering for Hindutva, her Savarkarism earned her Padma Shri, the country’s fourth-highest civilian award.
She began her filmy career in 2006 with thriller Gangster, for which she was awarded the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut. In Fashion (2008) she got recognition for her role as a druggist Model. She won the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress for it. She appeared in the commercially successful films Raaz: The Mystery Continues (2009) and Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai (2010) but was criticized for being typecast in neurotic roles. A comic role in Tanu Weds Manu (2011) was well-received, After that her films failed badly. Kangana returned again with Krish 3. She went on to win two consecutive National Film Awards for Best Actress for playing an abandoned bride in the comedy-drama Queen (2014) and a dual role in the comedy sequel Tanu Weds Manu Returns (2015). After 2015 again there is a break, she failed to do any good. She became politically associated with Hindutva and In 2020 launched her own production company to serve Hindutva. Ranaut was rebellious from the very young age. She wrote on twitter that she ran away from home at the age of 15, defied her father’s wishes. She had also confessed that during early phase, she was a druggist. Kangana had claimed on social media that during her early days as an actor, a ‘character actor’ used to drug her.
Kangana Ranaut had accused many actor and directors for her sexual exploitation. In her list Hritik Roshan, Anurag Kshyap, Vikas Bahel made headlines. Hritik filed case against her for online stalking. She said that sexual exploitation of young people is not a rare thing in Bollywood and fashion industry “No matter how much we defend the industry, it’s the truth. While it gives so many opportunities, it also shatters many dreams and leaves people permanently scarred. Yeh kaala sach hai (this is the dark truth)”.
She is a deeply religious Hindu women but seldom does hypocrisy. She is outspoken and shows herself as progressive and feminist. As her films were badly failing, she was banned by twitter and because of her bad words she faced public rejection at broad level; recently She visited Tirupathi and did Rahu puja for success. She is in alienation for the last 3-4 years and is almost boycotted by bollywood fraternity for her generalized accusations of drug and sexual exploitation, her bad words on SM and her dirty Hindutva politics of hatemongering.
