The concept of astrological age is not new, it is similar to the concept of Yuga. The concept of yuga is also astrological because at the completion of yoga all planets occupy the first sign of Kaalpurush and there is beginning of new cycle. A new cycle also begins when Saturn-Jupiter conjunction changes the triplicity after nearly 240 years. Last Saturn-Jupiter conjunction was in earthly sign. Aquarius is in Airy triplicity, the first Saturn-Jupiter conjunction will be in Libra in CE 2100. Astrological age is a product of the earth’s slow processional rotation, earth axis lasts for 2,160 years on average in one zodiac sign and takes almost 25,920-year period to complete one rotation of zodiac.
Saturn is the ruler of the sign of Aquarius, and it is quite possible that Khunrath meant the coming age, the age of Aquarius, the water carrier, which is almost due now.

The age of Aquarius has already begun as earth axis is moving towards Aquarius but according to astrological age calculators the true effect will be experienced only when earth axis will enter into Aquarius in coming 100-150 years (calculation differs from speculators to speculators, many think world is already running into it since last Saturn-Jupiter conjunction). The major symptoms of the age of Aquarius as described by Karl Jung is humanity and freedom which is not seen anywhere rather opposite is experienced, there are rise of dictatorial regime and oppression. But from another point of view as for as liberation of Sexuality is concerned, world is certainly experiencing it. But the rise of dictatorial regime and oppression is seen only in the beginning because movement is still largely under the effect of Jupiter. People still listen to priests. Once its effect starts vanishing world will taste a new age of freedom.
In almost all Puranas the characteristic of Kaliyuga is written in great details which is non other than the features of the age of Aquarius and its co-rulers Saturn and Rahu. In Sri Bhagavata Purana 12th section, the features of the age of Kaliyuga is described in details which is certainly about the age of Aquarius. Translation of these verses are as follows ..
Text 1: Śukadeva Gosvāmī said: Then, O King, religion, truthfulness, cleanliness, tolerance, mercy, duration of life, physical strength and memory will all diminish day by day because of the powerful influence of the Age of Kali.
Text 2: In Kali-Yuga, wealth alone will be considered the sign of a man’s good birth, proper behavior and fine qualities. And law and justice will be applied only on the basis of one’s power.
Text 3: Men and women will live together merely because of superficial attraction, and success in business will depend on deceit. Womanliness and manliness will be judged according to one’s expertise in sex, and a man will be known as a brāhmaṇa just by his wearing a thread.
Text 4: A person’s spiritual position will be ascertained merely according to external symbols, and on that same basis people will change from one spiritual order to the next. A person’s propriety will be seriously questioned if he does not earn a good living. And one who is very clever at juggling words will be considered a learned scholar.
Text 5: A person will be judged unholy if he does not have money, and hypocrisy will be accepted as virtue. Marriage will be arranged simply by verbal agreement, and a person will think he is fit to appear in public if he has merely taken a bath.
Text 6: A sacred place will be taken to consist of no more than a reservoir of water located at a distance, and beauty will be thought to depend on one’s hairstyle. Filling the belly will become the goal of life, and one who is audacious will be accepted as truthful. He who can maintain a family will be regarded as an expert man, and the principles of religion will be observed only for the sake of reputation. Text 7: As the earth thus becomes crowded with a corrupt population, whoever among any of the social classes shows himself to be the strongest will gain political power.
Text 8: Losing their wives and properties to such avaricious and merciless rulers, who will behave no better than ordinary thieves, the citizens will flee to the mountains and forests.
Text 9: Harassed by famine and excessive taxes, people will resort to eating leaves, roots, flesh, wild honey, fruits, flowers and seeds. Struck by drought, they will become completely ruined.
Text 10: The citizens will suffer greatly from cold, wind, heat, rain and snow. They will be further tormented by quarrels, hunger, thirst, disease and severe anxiety.
Text 11: The maximum duration of life for human beings in Kali-yuga will become fifty years.
Texts 12-16: By the time the Age of Kali ends, the bodies of all creatures will be greatly reduced in size, and the religious principles of followers of varṇāśrama will be ruined. The path of the Vedas will be completely forgotten in human society, and so-called religion will be mostly atheistic. The kings will mostly be thieves, the occupations of men will be stealing, lying and needless violence, and all the social classes will be reduced to the lowest level of śūdras. Cows will be like goats, spiritual hermitages will be no different from mundane houses, and family ties will extend no further than the immediate bonds of marriage. Most plants and herbs will be tiny, and all trees will appear like dwarf śamī trees. Clouds will be full of lightning, homes will be devoid of piety, and all human beings will have become like asses. At that time, the God Vishnu will appear on the earth as Kalki Avatara. Acting with the power of pure spiritual goodness, He will rescue eternal religion.
These verses written by Hindu babas and Swamis are general astrology predictions, it has nothing to do with divya drishti. These are solely based on Vedic astrology. Some of the important features of the prediction are: Human beings, animals and trees will be of small and swarf size which is due to the nature of Aquarius which is the sign of short length. In Vedic astrology Aries, Taurus and Aquarius are said to be hrasva i.e. short length sign. People will be immoral, pitiless, adultery, corruption, aging, dominance of Shudra nature etc. are features of Saturn and Rahu. They have indirectly predicted that Vaishnava dharma will go downwards and no one will follow laws of Manu and Bhagavad Gita at all. In fact Saturn-Rahu will destroy it. Their prediction is genuine in that the law of Manu will be reestablished again by a dictator, only dictator can do it. Kaliyuga is about freedom from all Vedic Sanskaras.
What the world is already experiencing is the nature of Saturn-Rahu mixed with Jupiter which is said to be sum or neutral to Saturn hence not much effective. It can be seen in all religious leaders, Jupiter is neutral, it has no say; Saturn-Rahu dominate their mind. Rampant corruption, lootpat, burglary, adultery, divorce is rampant, use of drug and alcohol, rulers and religious leaders have combined effect of Shani-Rahu. It is the age of liberation, it is the age of Shudras.
Interestingly the ruler devata of the beginning 10 degree is Aja-ekpada, a yogi and also a Tantrik deity and we see that how Yoga and Tantra has become international phenomena. Since the axis has entered in the beginning of the sign Aquarius in Gemini navansha, we also experience Mercury’s effect- The rise of Technology, Speech oriented Music and film industry etc. What is described in Purana as negative is in fact positive: Women’s liberation, rights of the oppressed and Shudras, new religions, new way of thinking, sexual freedom etc. The recognition and growth of LGBT is one major sign of arrival of the age of Aquarius, as in Vedic astrology Saturn is eunuch. Interestingly the first navansha of the sign Aquarius is Gemini ruled by another eunuch planet Mercury. IT people will experience eunuch effect of Mercury and Saturn. They will loss erection, sperm count and may not be able to procreate.
The beginning 10 degree of the sign of Aquarius is co-ruled by Saturn-Jupiter and it will have Gemini, Taurus, Aries navansha. Then the dark and deep impact of Aquarius will be experienced when axis will enter into Satabhisha ruled by Rahu. It is middle section of Aquarius ruled by Varun lord of waters. The Rahu section will be ruled by Saturn-Rahu and navansha will be of Pisces, Aquarius , Capricorn and Sagittarius.
Its middle will write the darkest chapters of human history.
Puran predicts that in this dark phase Saptrishis will enter into Purvashadha Nakshatra.
यदा मघाभ्यो यास्यन्ति पूर्वाषाढां महर्षय: ।
तदा नन्दात् प्रभृत्येष कलिर्वृद्धिं गमिष्यति ॥
After the last navansha of Rahu is crossed, the dark effect of the age of Aquarius will start vanishing as the axis will shift in Dhanistha nakshtra ruled by Saturn-Mars. Its effects can be described accordingly.
