In Vedic astrology lord of Trikon houses are said to be the most auspicious lords but the lord of these houses are lord of two house and own inauspicious or duhsthan houses then they may become killers. As in Aries, Jupiter is lord of 9th house but also owns 12th house. In Gemini ascendant,the lord of 9th is Saturn who also owns the most evil 8th house, In Virgo Saturn owns 5th house but also owns 6th house etc. Let us take the case of Aries and try to understand it. Jupiter is lord of 9th and he is significator of sons, grandsons, bhahmanas, social and other duties, elder brother, honor from King, Faith, wisdom and divine worship; fortune or luck (bhagya), philosophy, religious and philosophical beliefs, meditation, intuition and forethought, places of worship, sacrifices and charity, father, preceptor (Guru), teaching, Dhanna, grandchildren, dreams and visions, knees; communication with spirits, long journeys, voyage, air travel, higher education, foreign travel; etc.
If the Jupiter being lord of 9th lord and 12th is in the house of debilitation or in a detrimental or in enemy house or combust or is associated with lord of bad houses or occupies bad house, it will give bad results related to all or some of the significators mentioned above like – misfortune, no blessing of god , enmity with father or guru, trouble with government etc. 9th House is the most powerful trikon house, if its lord suffers, growth of native is obstructed.
In the kendra houses lord 10th is the strongest house, the important significations of 10th house are– highs, honor, dignity, public esteem, name and fame, power prestige, credit (for good work and conduct), success and status, rank and renown, respect and reputation, ambition and authority, worldly activities, responsibilities, permanency (in service), promotion, advancement, appointment, profession, last rites to one’s parents, religious functions. Government, high position such as President, Prime Minister or Minister, pilgrimage to holy places, honour from Government. If the lord of 10th house is afflicted, occupies bad houses or with enemy or combust or debilitated or lord of bad houses occupy 10th house then that would mean some or all of these significations mentioned above would suffer.
So we see, both the most powerful Kendra and Trine (Kona) houses are suffering if the lord or house in badly afflicted. As for example if 9th lord becomes marak with such association or affliction it will give 8 kinds of death which are as follows-
1-Vyatha (agony/distress/suffering)
2-Dukha (pain/sorrow)
3-Bhaya (fear/anxiety)
4-Lajja (shame)
5-Roga-vyadhi (illness)
6-Bhandhan (confining/fastening/bondage)
7-Apamaan (insult)
8-Mrityu (death)
In the example of Aries Jupiter the lord of 9th is lord of 12th also therefore if ..
- Jupiter in house of debilitation in Capricorn around 5 degrees then it will cause much bad. Many astrologers believe that once a planet crosses its degree of debilitation, its evil effect is lowered.
