It is almost confirmed that Manu Samriti is working and Dr. B.R.Ambedkar’s modern Constitution is certainly not working. Following backlashes from Hindutva fascist groups like VHP and others on alleged misrepresentations of Lord Rama and hurting religious sentiments, Nayantara starrer ‘Annapoorani’ has been removed from Netflix. Makers Zee cinema has issued an apology letter stating that as Co-producers of the film, they didn’t have any intentions to hurt religious sentiments of the Brahmins. They also pledged to review and remove the contentious scenes if found inappropriate.

“Annapoorani: The Goddess of Foodis” is a Indian Tamil-language drama film directed by Nilesh Krishnaa. In the film star Nayanthara has played the lead role of a Brahmin girl Annapoorani. She dreams of being a chef, and the obstacles she comes across while trying to fulfill her dream. In the film Nayantara eats and cook meat and in a scene a her Muslim friend played by Farhan explains how in Ramayana Rama-Sita also eat meat. The scene certainly hurts Manuvad while meat has been most favorite food of its propagators.

Hindutva groups have even filed an FIR against actor Nayanthara, the film’s director and producers, and Netflix India’s content head.
